Vision 50 E:- Upper frame build

24 October 2011 | posted by Mattie Lodge

Upper frame build is next.

As mentioned earlier in the blog. The frame in a multi-stacked system. This part shows the upper frame build and then to follow how it fits to the rest of the frame.

Here are the parts that make up this section.

One side is selected and assembled with most of the parts. I applied loctite to the screws but didn’t fully tighten them until both side were together. This would aid me in getting the two sides parallel to each other.

Next photo details the individual parts for the upper frame make up.

It has a sliding motor mount to allow for different gear meshes, gyro mount at the top for the FBL unit. The manual also shows an alternative gyro mounting position which I will point out later in the build. Three bearing blocks will hold the main mast. Nice size radio try and an idler tail push rod bell crank. Lots going on here :)

Together it all looks like this

As you can see for the upper frame there is a lot going on. The parts count is quite high, however there is lots of great ideas and everything fits very nicely :)

Here’s the manual extract for this section

Tomorrow we will join the top and bottom halves together :)
