Midland Funfly 2012 – What a great weekend!
Well last weekend was my first time at the Midland Funfly event and what a great weekend it was! This Funfly has been running for a while now and is based at the Midland Heli club near Twycross, their website can be found here: http://www.midlandhelicopterclub.org.uk. The field is one of the best I have been too with really good parking and plenty of space it’s always great when you can camp out next to your car.
The club members were all very kind and you can tell a lot of work had gone into the event with the repainting and the very nicely cut grass which was quite tricky to trim even more!
Fellow Fast Lad flight team member Steven Gerrard put on some awesome displays throughout Sunday with some seriously awesome flying, the Rave 90 with the OS .105HZ-R he flys doesn’t skip a beat! Talking about the OS 105 my Raptor G4′s one has seem to have broken in, on Sunday it suddenly changed in headspeed and offered a lot more power. I am loving flying the Raptor G4 I have a truly crazy setup with the 710mm Revolution blades coupled with the super wide hub of the Raptors the pop of the blades is out of this world!
Rachel was sporting her new OPTIFUEL and OPTIPOWER team canopies with a very fresh look, I must admit they did stand out a lot in flight. Her flying has come on even more than from the Air competition and I saw some very low inverted flying take place! Jack the dog was having fun dropping his ball on the most unusual of places including a DX7 transmitter! He also had a taste for dropping them on Logo SE canopies, much to the amusement of us all, haha!
Adam Melton’s Synergy E7 was certainly pulling some hard G’s but it had awesome power to take it through it all, sweet flying mate! :) There was awesome flying by many pilots all throughout the weekend.
Thanks to Rachel for taking quite a few of these photos including the ones of my Raptor G4 flying :), and to all the raffle donators and thank you to everyone there especially the Midland club members for making such a great event possible.
