I’ve been fortunate enough to have been sent an Ely-Q Vision 50 E by Fast Lad for test and to see what I think of it. So to keep things out in the open, I’m going to post my thoughts on the ‘Review blog page’ of the site.…

After unpacking each sub box, separately indented bags are found with the kit contents enclosed. Each bag is coded to correspond with the relevant page in the great looking build manual.

First part of the build is the lower frames and skids assembly.

The Vision 50E frame is a multi-stacked system, similar to the Vision Competition but with extra width to accommodate the batteries.

As mentioned earlier in the blog. The frame in a multi-stacked system. This part shows the upper frame build and then to follow how it fits to the rest of the frame.

Next job is to join the upper and lower frames

Using various spacers and long M3 allen bolts the upper and lower frames are joined together. Once again I loctited all the bolts and put them in loosely until all were installed. Then nipped them up making sure the frames …

In the manual the next step is to fit the tail boom. This section I have skipped for the time being as it’s much easier to work on the heli with no boom attached.

The tail gearbox comes complete and ready to fit. I’m always a little worried about this, so in my normal fashion I took it to bits to check that loctite was present. Every bolt was done which was good news. :)

The FBL head is very simple and pretty standard as they go for this type of model. Its held on by a single top shanked bolt. The swash driver is also a standard clamp type unit.
